Castlewood Canyon

We decided to spend the day at Castlewood Canyon.
Travis and I had fun climbing the boulders. Getting down is the harder part!

It turned out to be a hot day so I put my feet in the water, Travis wouldn't do it with me though.

We asked a kid to take a picture of us, and he said, "I don't have a camera." We told him that we have one and so he took it, this is the best we got!

Bierstadt

You can see the snow and the boulders we had to climb with this picture of Leah. What you cannot see is the wind that nearly knocked us over many times. But we did make it to the top and it was beautiful.

Rachel finally got to experience hiking a fourteener! It was me, Rachel, Mom, Leah and James. Travis and I still have not been able to hike one together. Maybe next year. As you can see in the pictures it is already too cold and we will not be hiking anymore fourteeners this year. Bierstadt is the mountain on the right covered in snow!

Reunion Picture

We finally took our family/reunion pictures, only a couple weeks after the reunion was over. It turned out pretty well. Getting the family together to take a picture is getting to be more of a task and not so fun, but we always seem to like the outcome. We will see how much the family changes in a year from now.

Cliff jumping at Emry Bay MT

The water was so nice. Jumping in I expected it to be freezing it being a reservoir of glacier water and all. depending on the year these cliffs can get to be 50-100 feet off the water. Rachel did not jump off this one but she jumped off a different 25+ footer. All in all it was a great day. my little brother Scott came up later. Sarah, Rachels little sister was there as well as Carol. This place is only about 15 min from my home. It is a great place to camp and fish, boat. All you can handle!!!!

More Hiking

We had a great time hiking massive and La plata a couple days ago. The pictures may not show it but we are enjoying every step. Travis, Stuart, James, and Chris summited la plata around 10:30 am. About 4 hours up and 3 hours down. Down hill is so much harder then up hill.

McArthur Reunion

Me with my little niece, Audrey. This picture was taken during my family reunion up at Breckenridge, Colorado. We had a lot of fun playing at the pool, biking, going to Water World, and playing games during the reunion.

Longs Peak

Here is Travis at the top of Longs Peak. This is his first Colorado Fourteener (for those of you not familiar with Fourteeners... it's a 14,000 foot mountain) he's ever climbed. Travis hiked with James, his brother in law, and James' cousin. It was long and hard, but rewarding and beautiful.
