DOGS...
Sorry to all you dog and animal lovers, I just never grew up with them so I am still quite apprehensive about them. Right now Travis and I are dog sitting this dog for about 10 days. The other day I decided I would do a service and take the dog on my walk with me. Within minutes the dog pooped a massive amount, it is probably still there because I was not about to clean it up. I am quite pregnant and could not walk as fast as the dog wanted to so I was really sore by the end of the walk. We got into a couple tiffs with other dogs on the path. And this dog refused to walk on the right side of the trail, so I felt like an idiot walking on the wrong side of the path. Oh, I thought pregnant women peed a lot, well, dogs trump all with their need to mark their territory EVERY 5 MINUTES. Well, basically you couldn't pay me enough to be a dog walker. The next day Travis took the dog for run!!
I can't believe I am 24!!
I had a fabulous birthday this year. Normally Travis and I do something really fun, but with me being 32 weeks pregnant there weren't many things I could do. For my birthday I spent a couple hours at the pool just laying out, swimming and reading (it was great!).
Then, Travis took me to Maggiano's--a great Italian restaurant. He spent a long time trying to figure out where to go and what to do, it was so sweet. It is hard when I love all food all the time. But he came to the conclusion that I really like Italian and he hit it spot on. I had this plate of lobster ravioli (if you ever go you should order that!).
After eating it was still very hot outside and we both decided to go any where that had air conditioning! We love to browse books and music, so we went to good old Barnes and Noble. We listened to music and browsed. Probably boring for some, but it was just fine with me!
For dessert I chose Dairy Queen, because you can never go wrong with ice cream! Travis got the dipped cone. It is funny because, as it might be the case with you, when we were kids we were only allowed to get the dipped cone. They used to me like 59 cents. Now they are almost 2 dollars!!! Crazy. (By the way, if any one knows how it all works with the dipping and the ice cream not melting let me know!)
I got a blizzard which didn't turn out the way I expected. I once had strawberry shortcake ice cream with Reese's in it so that is what I thought I ordered. But there are little cheesecake and strawberry chunks in the blizzard so it just turned out to be a peanut butter and jelly blizzard. Not bad, but not what I really wanted. Oh well!Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Blog issues
Sorry I keep changing my blog. I have not been happy with the way things look and then I change things and it messes everything up. I hope to stick with this one for a while because I am sick of fixing things.
Another month has passed!!!
Here is a fun story that happened to me just yesterday. I was out grocery shopping with my mom. When we got to the check out line the guy checking us out asked me "so you due really soon?"
Me: "Not really I still have 2 1/2 months to go."
Guy: "Wow...BIG baby!!"
I am not sure how that was supposed to make me feel, but you can check out just how BIG the baby is getting.
I am now 29 weeks along, which is just over 7 months. I don't post these pictures because I like looking at them, but I know I like seeing other people's tummys grow so this is for your benefit.
I feel like I am getting so big so fast and I can't imagine getting bigger in the next 2 1/2 months. By the way, no one tells you that a pregnancy is actually closer to 10 months than 9! Any way, other than getting big I actually feel quite good and I don't have too much to complain about. I am one of the lucky ones. I will let you know in 2 months though!!
Camping
Travis and I went camping to this place no one has ever heard of called Jackson Lake. The campground was beautiful and the lake was beautiful. We had a fun and interesting time.
We sat on the dock and dipped our feet in the water because it was so hot. We went to this campground so we could swim but the lake had green slimy stuff in it and we were not brave enough to put more than our feet in the water!
We had such a pretty area to camp that was surrounded by trees, but that made it so we did not get any wind through our camp and Travis could not keep the fire going without a little breeze. He blew on the fire forever until get just got hot enough coals to cook our food!
Lately we are into playing chess. Travis taught me (yes I am almost 24 and just learned how to play chess properly) and it turns out chess is quite fun. I will never have a chance at beating Travis but he always tells me I came close.Thursday, July 2, 2009
Red Rocks
A couple of nights ago the Mormon Tabernacle Choir came to perform at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. We had no intention of going because we could not afford tickets. Luckily we have some awesome friends who had 2 extra tickets and invited us to come with them.
Yes, the big pregnant girl had to have a chair! To get up to the theater there are TONS of stairs. I barely made the climb, but I was glad I did because the concert was amazing.Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Crazy Weather!!
This morning was a beautiful morning. There were no clouds in the sky and it was nearly 90 degrees. My sister Leah brought her kids to the pool with my mom and I. It was nice to escape the heat.

Within about an hour a bunch of storm clouds came in and it started pouring down rain and then hailing really bad. We have been getting this kind of weather a lot lately. There is crazy hail and tornado warnings. This time I took some pics because it hailed for so long.
It looks like snow, but it is hail. I also heard some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard in my life. Kinda crazy! Signs of the times??
